1994 Buick Lesabre..My top radiator hose blew Off..and the Radiator cap stays cold?

thanks everybody for the answers...i was gonna change the thermostat today but the housing bolts wouldn't budge..and if i would break them i would have to drill them out..tricky%26gt;%26gt;

Is there a trick to getting them out...i want to with the cheapest solution first.

thanks again,

flush out the radiator.also spray some pb blaster on the bolts and let them soak for a while,then work the bolts back and forth till they come loose.

THE ONLY THING THAT I COULD SUGGEST AS FAR AS YOUR BOLT SITUATION WOULD BE TO GET A LITTLE BIT OF WD40 AND SPRAY ON THEM AND LET THEM SOAK FOR A WHILE AND THAT SHOULD FREE THEM ENOUGH WERE YOU COULD LOOSEN THEM UP,AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK TRY PUTTING A LITTLE HEAT TO THEM THEN THEY WILL COME LOOSE BUT YOU HAVE TO WATCH AND NOT GET THEM TO HOT OK,AND AS FAR AS YOUR HOSE GOES ITS PROBLY KEEPS BLOWING OFF BECAUSE EITHER YOUR CLAMP THAT YOU TIGHTENIT DOWN WITH IS BAD OR YOUR RADIATOR CAP IS THE WRONG ONE AND ITS THROWING TO MUCH PRESSURE BACK TO THE HOSE THATITS CAUSEING IT TO BLOW OFF
What has caused the bolts to be frozen is corrosion due to coolant leaking past the thermostat gasket and into the threads. Unfortunately, there isn't any way that a penetrant like WD-40 is going to get into the thread area.

You CAN shock the rust free with a punch and a hammer.

Don't use a chisel or a punch that will cause the head of the bolt to deform. You can go to a discount parts store and buy an inexpensive punch for %26lt; $5.00. Place the punch on the top of the head of the bolt, and strike the punch repeatedly, and then try to remove the bolts.

Without special equipment, that is about the best you can do without drilling and tapping.

With all the extra heat and pressure, make certain that the plastic radiator tank isn't damaged or cracked. This is a very common failure with plastic %26amp; aluminum radiators.
